Fuser-motor assembly (M299)

1 . Remove the following components:
• Top accessory cover.
• Formatter cover and cage.
• Top cover.
• Right-side cover.
• DC controller.
2. Release one spring (callout 1 ).

A CAUTION: The spring is not captive. Do not lose the spring. _

3. Remove two screws (callout 2) and then remove the guide (callout 3).

4. Disconnect one wire-harness connector (callout 4), and then remove three screws (callout 5). Remove the fuser-motor assembly.

^ NOTE: You must install the fuser-motor wire harness on the replacement fuser-motor assembly.

Dell 1815DN Displaying Door Open Front Door or Fuser Door Open Error

If your Dell 1815DN is displaying "Door Open Front Door" or "Fuser Door Open" even though the front and rear door are closed, you should replace the High Voltage Power Supply. The HVPS contains most of this machines sensors and switches which can go bad causing these errors.
